Sharla June

We humans dig in when we commit a measurable amount of time to learning. I also need time to connect with students and learn how best to teach them. That is why I operate on a semester system.

  • The 2018 Fall semester runs for 12 weeks,  August 27 – November 30, with weeks off for Hamilton Co. Fall Break (Oct 8 – 12)  & for Thanksgiving (Nov 22 – 26).
  • The 2019 Winter/Spring semester runs for 15 weeks, January 7 – April 26.
  • Your space is not guaranteed until you have made your first tuition payment.
  • I accept credit/debit payments online or via my paypal ( or venmo ( accounts.
  • Tuition is due at the start of the semester or can be paid in 3 monthly installments, due on the 1st of each month.  For the Summer semester, tuition is due at the start of the semester.
  • If you would like, I  can send you an invoice two weeks before payment is due for your records.

Weekly Half-Hour Lessons

Beginner musicians, and many young musicians, will get the most from a weekly 1/2-hour lesson.  As the student builds her stamina, she may want to transition to an hour-long lesson each week.

$264/semester for 12  weekly 1/2-hour lessons ($88/mo for 3 mos)

$330/semester for 15  weekly 1/2-hour lessons ($110/mo for 3 mos)

Half-hour lessons start with  about 10 minutes of ear-training and theory  practice, with the remaining 20 minutes spent playing and learning new songs/techniques.

Weekly One-Hour Lessons

Hour-long lessons start with about 20 minutes of ear-training and theory, with the remaining 40 minutes spent playing and learning new songs/techniques. I seek student feedback so that lessons can be tailored to what a student wants to learn, while also meeting my teaching objectives.

Older students and those with more experience often get the most from an hour-long session each week.

$528/semester for 12 weekly one-hour lessons ($179/mo for 3 mos)

$660/semester for 15 weekly one-hour lessons ($220/mo for 3 mos)

Summer Offerings

Summer is a time for fun and adventure. Families are traveling, and I like my summer semester to work for families on the go. I love to offer group lessons and music camps during the summer to shake things up and to invite new families to join in the fun!

Private lessons continue across the summer, but the semester is 6-weeks long. Tuition is due at the start of the semester.

$132/semester for 6  weekly 1/2-hour lessons
$264/semester for 6  weekly one-hour lessons

I offer two week-long music camps each summer. These camps are opportunities for beginning students to experience playing a new instrument and for more advanced students to share their experience, to push the boundaries of what they know, and to play with other musicians.  Click the button on the right to learn more.

Events and Group Classes

Playing music together is one of our most powerful human connecting activities. Our brains are wired for it! Let's talk about how learning and playing music with others can create community, spark conversation, build confidence, and increase self-control, compassion,  and connection.

I am available to teach group lessons at your event or to provide group classes to businesses, communities, or homeschool groups. Let me know what your needs are, and we will find a way to meet them!
